Back to topThere are 2 ways to send SMS messages using RemindMe. You can either send individual / group messages or you can send bulk SMS messages. The Bulk SMS reminder feature is usually reserved for sending SMS messages to your entire contact list as opposed to a subset of contacts or to individuals. Once you decide which feature is the right one for you then fill in all the details required.
Add SMS Reminder Example: Joe Doe is sending a message to himself at 8am on 31st May to remind him that he has a doctors appointment later that day at 1pm. The frequency is set to "Once only" which means that the SMS reminder alert will only be sent once. You can also create SMS reminder alerts for a number of different intervals including; Daily, Weekly, 2 weekly, 3 weekly, 4 weekly and Monthly (Calendar month). Selecting a "repeat" value from the list (1-31) will create the reminder so many times.
Add Bulk SMS Reminder Example: Joe Doe would like to send a message to his entire contact list. Select the Date & Time, enter the message, select your contacts and press Add SMS Reminder.
Please note: SMS messages have a maximum character limit of 459 characters. The following applies:
Click on the Message Templates link on the Add Reminder/My Profile screen presents you with the Reminder Templates screen.
Here you can customise your messages using certain string values you enter on your preferences screen
Example: Joe Doe wants to add his contacts first name to the SMS message he is sending out to his contact list so he enters #FIRST_NAME# to the message template. When the SMS message is being sent out, the contacts first name is replaced with #FIRST_NAME#.
